Long Term Visit Pass

After having some hassles in applying PR and long-term visit pass, housewife has finally got her long-term visit pass. Thanks God for that! Again, housewife should thank God for meeting a nice lady officer when applying the visit-pass so everything went smooth.

This is a sample of long-term visit pass taken from ICA website.

Housewife is looking forward to get the PR.
May Lord bless housewife with a smooth approval.

House Hunting

Housewife has a new assignment in Lion City: House Hunting.
Therefore, housewife has spent most of her time on doing research and got to know about the districts in Lion City. During the hunting process, housewife starts to get familiarize with some districts here.
After discussions, both housewife and hubby mutually decided to stay away from the hustle and bustle of city to enjoy serene and quiet place in outskirt area. After all, Lion City is a small country where it only takes about 30minutes drive, of course without any massive jam, to get to business hub and the vibrant Orchard Road shopping belt.
After viewing few units, their well-kept buildings impressed housewife very much where it didn’t show any sign of aging. Indeed, they looked like a new building from outside till you could only tell its age when you see the old-fashioned but well-maintained flooring.  For instance, we went to view some units in a 20-year-old condo which housewife was reluctant to do so at the beginning. It proved housewife wrong for the ‘judgment’ made. Never judge the book by its cover! The environment and atmosphere are very serene and quiet. It’s like living in the resort. However, we thought of getting more choices before committing to one.
Next, we went to see few penthouse units which housewife falls in love with its facilities and environment. The size of the unit is decent, about 2,400 square feet, with a high ceiling, nice kitchen, large patio and backyard. The patio and backyard is extendable and the master bedroom is on the roof terrace. Furthermore, it’s walking distance to MRT station and wet market. It seems good value for money in term of the size, convenience, security and its layout. Oh ya, housewife forgot to mention about its big swimming pool.  Well, it’s not easy to get a home like this in Lion City as you know that their property is sky-high price.
Since these are first few units we’ve viewed so both housewife and hubby thought to think thoroughly before making such a big decision. In the late evening of the same day, we decided to make an offer to the units we’ve viewed and guess what? All units we fell for has SOLD OUT! The deal can be closed in a day, not even 24 hours! You can imagine the demand of the property. Of course, the heartbreaking housewife kept on searching for one in that particular project but seemed many have been sold out.  Well, it shows that they are not meant for us.
After having few conversations with “Lions” (Notes: Housewife named residents in Lion City as “Lion”), the only concern in the area for the Penthouse unit we like is the traffic. It’s because there’s ONLY expressway lead to Centre Business Hub (heart of the city) so it can be terribly jam during rush hour and weekend. One thing housewife learns about is their toll charges are NOT fixed. In Lion City, toll stations are automated and it’s also known to the locals as ERP or Electronic Road Pricing, was introduced by Land Transport Authority (LTA) to reduce city traffic jams. Therefore, they will adjust the price to higher if the traffic in city is massive. Housewife heard that it could be charged up to S$40 per trip.
In a nutshell, the house-hunting is still in progress……
Anyway, housewife and hubby has shortlisted few units in new area and let see if we can get our home sweet home….

First visit to doctor

Today was housewife’s first visit to doctor in Lion City.
Still remember the blisters housewife has got from frying chicken? After few days, the infected wound was gradually festered and went septic that caused housewife suffered from its soreness for days. It even disturbed housewife’s slumber. What an unbearable pain!
Finally, housewife decided to see doctor and doctor has given one-week-course of antibiotics and cream to reduce inflammation.  Of course, it costs $50 or RM100++ for medical fees! It definitely expedites the pain....

Doctor also advised housewife that the wound should avoid contacting with water, no outdoor activities and not even to expose to sun for the time being. Therefore, housewife becomes ‘handicapped’ this week.
Poor little housewife! This is something housewife has never experienced before so it brought a little shock to housewife. Can you imagine a little blister developed a suppurating sore? The wound brought a tear to eye and she wept. It also made housewife home sick.
Luckily, hubby has been a great comfort to housewife through all of this. He has taken care of housewife and taking over household chores when housewife is on ‘medical leave’.
Well, this is the effect of frying chicken. Dudes, think twice of being housewife!

Just 2 little blisters in the beginning...................................

THEN, it turns out to be a 'disaster" !

Pray hard that it recovers speedily and the healing process will go smooth. The major concern  housewife has is the scar that contributed from the inflammation. No scar please......

Tears drop again....

"The Power of Prayer to Change your Marriage" By Stormie Omartian

Housewife wants to recommend this book, "The Power of Prayer to Change your Marriage" by Stormie Omartian, to those married couple and those are going to tie a knot.

It says out the challenges/issues in marriage and how we as married couple overcome it. Of course, for Christian friend, it comes with prayer. It opens housewife's eyes and have a better understanding on marriage especially when a marriage growing older...

Housewife personally like this "the 16 ways to destroy your marriage" and would like to share with you. Also, to keep as a reminder...

Enjoy reading!

Enzyme

My ‘ah dear’ in hometown recommend this enzyme to us as it helps to enhance our immune system.  Oh by the way, for those who is in family planning, you may want to consider this. My ‘ah dear’ shared some testimonial with us and it seems helping many couples to conceive successfully.  Of course we also sees her ‘fruitful result’. Therefore we give it a try-loh.
If you’re interested, you can drop by pharmacy and get one. However, this is made from Japan so they have stopped the production this year as the radiation hit the country. Well, it’s going to be out of stock from market temporarily. Oh ya, a gentle reminder: Look at the manufacturing date before grabbing it.
My ‘ah dear’ and me have grabbed few bottles to keep. Haha….

Maintain Home; Flourish Herself

To play a role as THE new housewife, she’s not only needs to maintain a home but also to flourish herself. :D So housewife start a new day with all these "starters" before breakfast…
(From left to right: Chinese Medicine, Enzyme, Fiber, Folid Acid & Vitamin C)
After feeding stomach with these nourishing food, housewife has a podgy stomach.
Then, follow by a beautiful breakfast: Milk, multi-grain bread and a half-boiled egg. (My favorite breakfast!)
Despite of the healthcare products, housewife also needs to indulge herself in personal care in order to prevent the face turn ‘yellowish’ and become typical “黄脸婆”. This is what The new housewife should become conscious about- to keep a great appearance.  Hehe… Houeswife is a self-conscious person so should be fine with it.  :P
Lastly, a jog/walk a day will keep fat away. Hopefully running stairs up to 18th floor can help to shake the fat away after all good food. :P

Housewife is On Leave!

Housewife is on leave today! :D
No cooking, washing, scrubbing, scouring and mopping. Instead, housewife is in a little cave lying on bed, reading, listening to music and of course blogging. :D

Well, this is not a sign of slacking off!
As you know housewife is away from Lion City for more than a month so you can imagine how the “happy dust bunnies” corralling at home. So, housewife has to turn the house upside-down, inside- out and even sideways to herd the ‘happy dust bunnies’ into trash. Yet, the cleaning campaign still in progress.
After long-hour of cleaning-up for the past few days, the hands,  which soaked in water frequently, are simply dry and pain, not to mention the blisters  housewife has ’rewarded’ from frying chicken. Well, they started to make complaint by giving some discomfort. So, housewife promise the hands not to torment them today by the consent of Boss hubby…
I’m happy for you, my dear hands. J
Of course, housewife is happy too because she’s going to EAT OUT tonight. LOL….

Sign of Marriage?!

Hubby wanted to get fried chicken for dinner so this sweet housewife decided to cook for him.
Yesterday, Housewife tried a new recipe - "Bumbu Racik Ayam Goreng" which bought from Bali. :D

It tastes nice but the process takes time though. When seasoning, it needs to boil chicken in low frame, together with the paste and 250ml of water until the gravy runs dry and chicken is tender and seasoned. Lastly, deep fried the chicken and served.

Guess what? Housewife burned the hands when frying chicken. You can see blisters over the hands now. It's heartbreaking to see the hands hurt like this. *wailing*

Look at the injured hands....

Blister 1

Blister 2

Blister 3

Blister 4

This is the result of FRIED CHICKEN!
So this is a total ban on fried chicken in the kitchen.  Additionally, the oil spurted out of the pan and it screwed the kitchen up. The housewife need to clean up.
In conclusion, NO MORE FRIED CHICKEN!!!

My 'ah dear' in hometown advised housewife to get a frying pan with a "filter basket' that can  prevent from burning. Ok, housewife will lift the ban till get one.

Poor little hubby, no fried chicken from housewife from now onwards. :P

Hubby said the blister shows Sign of Marriage. hahha... " Well said"

Well, housewife must say that think twice before you become housewife, dudes! :P

Housewife's Little Cave

Housewife sometimes needs some personal time and space to catch breath. Everyday, juggling between washing clothes, cooking, sweeping floor and bla bla bla are not fun at all, trust me!

Anyway, housewife is happy that having a little cave at home.
This is a place where housewife can do reading, listening to music, blogging, make up and dressing.
It's also a place where housewife need to isolate herself from outside world &calm down, esp mood swing during PMS. heheh....
Of course, my dear friends, this is also a cosy little hut for you when you come over to visit us. :)

Ok, let the pictures speak.

Besides hubby, there are 2 good buddies housewife can't live without, "Chut Chut" & "Pooh Pooh". hehhe.. It's their first time to Lion City. :P

I'm the New Housewife!

"What are you working now?"
"errrr... EM"
"huh?"
"Executive Maid" (My hubby said it's an abbreviation of  "Executive Mate".)
"...."

Alternatively,
"PA"
"I see. In what area?"
"At home"
"Huh?" (again)

Ok. EM or PA is just an ego talk anyway. So forget about it.
In simple word, I am an unemployed woman who takes care of house everyday.
So how should I call myself?

"HOUSEWIFE-lah"

When I was just came to town, I have this struggle when filling in the form. (I hate doing it!)
What should I write in "Occupation" column?
So, I left the blank when I applied for my PR here. I was still in denial. I don't think I am a houswife. However, the official brought me back to the fact....

" What are you working now?" the officer asked.
"I have just quit my job in my hometown."
"It means you're not working now, right? so you write "housewife' in occupation column and put zero under income."
Reluctantly, I did what I was told. :(

Ok, I am labeled as 'houswife' since then.

Slowly, I find this 'job' interesting. The benefits is good. Flexi working hour. Plan my job freely. Learn new thing. Unlimited leavesssss. :D

ok, my dear friend, no green-eye please... :P
I'm just trying to make myself happy. Afterall, come what may. Just take things as they come.

New housewife doesn't mean I'm a new broom but THE modern one. :P
So I'm not housewife but THE new one. LOL (Still in denial)

Hey world, please welcome me as the new housewife.
Nice to meet you!!
