House Hunting

Housewife has a new assignment in Lion City: House Hunting.
Therefore, housewife has spent most of her time on doing research and got to know about the districts in Lion City. During the hunting process, housewife starts to get familiarize with some districts here.
After discussions, both housewife and hubby mutually decided to stay away from the hustle and bustle of city to enjoy serene and quiet place in outskirt area. After all, Lion City is a small country where it only takes about 30minutes drive, of course without any massive jam, to get to business hub and the vibrant Orchard Road shopping belt.
After viewing few units, their well-kept buildings impressed housewife very much where it didn’t show any sign of aging. Indeed, they looked like a new building from outside till you could only tell its age when you see the old-fashioned but well-maintained flooring.  For instance, we went to view some units in a 20-year-old condo which housewife was reluctant to do so at the beginning. It proved housewife wrong for the ‘judgment’ made. Never judge the book by its cover! The environment and atmosphere are very serene and quiet. It’s like living in the resort. However, we thought of getting more choices before committing to one.
Next, we went to see few penthouse units which housewife falls in love with its facilities and environment. The size of the unit is decent, about 2,400 square feet, with a high ceiling, nice kitchen, large patio and backyard. The patio and backyard is extendable and the master bedroom is on the roof terrace. Furthermore, it’s walking distance to MRT station and wet market. It seems good value for money in term of the size, convenience, security and its layout. Oh ya, housewife forgot to mention about its big swimming pool.  Well, it’s not easy to get a home like this in Lion City as you know that their property is sky-high price.
Since these are first few units we’ve viewed so both housewife and hubby thought to think thoroughly before making such a big decision. In the late evening of the same day, we decided to make an offer to the units we’ve viewed and guess what? All units we fell for has SOLD OUT! The deal can be closed in a day, not even 24 hours! You can imagine the demand of the property. Of course, the heartbreaking housewife kept on searching for one in that particular project but seemed many have been sold out.  Well, it shows that they are not meant for us.
After having few conversations with “Lions” (Notes: Housewife named residents in Lion City as “Lion”), the only concern in the area for the Penthouse unit we like is the traffic. It’s because there’s ONLY expressway lead to Centre Business Hub (heart of the city) so it can be terribly jam during rush hour and weekend. One thing housewife learns about is their toll charges are NOT fixed. In Lion City, toll stations are automated and it’s also known to the locals as ERP or Electronic Road Pricing, was introduced by Land Transport Authority (LTA) to reduce city traffic jams. Therefore, they will adjust the price to higher if the traffic in city is massive. Housewife heard that it could be charged up to S$40 per trip.
In a nutshell, the house-hunting is still in progress……
Anyway, housewife and hubby has shortlisted few units in new area and let see if we can get our home sweet home….
