First Attempt(s) in the Kitchen

After being housewife, there're many first attempts in the kitchen. Sometimes, housewife made the kitchen upside down for the first attempt of new recipe. LOL

Of course, housewife is blessed to have parents and mother-in-law who are good in cooking. Therefore, housewife has got many recipies from them and needless to say, there're "live" recipe which housewife can call for help anytime.. :P

There's many recipe housewife has missed taking photos but nevermind, share some easy-to-prepare dishes with you...

Let the pictures speaks....

a. Tumeric Fried Fish

It's an easy recipe. All it needs to do is to marinate fish with salt, lemon and tumeric. The normal recipe didn't season with lemon but it does the magic on its flavour.

b. "Bee Tai Bak" with fish

This is a recipe from dad.

It's a healthy yet simple meal. Both hubby and housewife love it so much. Did cook for mother-in-law and she also complimented on this dish. :P

Anyway, soup is the 'master' of the dish and it tells everything.
Soup base: Fish bone, dried scallop, ginger & anchovies
Ingredients: Vege, fresh fish seasoned with sesame oil & soy sauce, fried anchovies

c. Pumpkin Cake

This is a recipe from mother-in-law. Guess what? housewife could finish half of it because it's simply too yummy. On top of that, the preparation is simple.

For those who refrain from yam, you can replace it with pumpkin and housewife personally feel that it tastes better than yam. :) Oh ya, housewife want to remind everyone: Pumpkin invites 'farting'. Watch out!! :P

Preparation:
a. 2 small bowl of Flour with 3 small bowl of water, 1 teaspoon of salt & 'ajinomoto"
b. Fried pumpkin (cut into cube),red onion, fried dried shrimp separately
c. Mixed flour and all ingredients in the pot and stir.
d. Steam & Serve

d. "Otak-Otak"

This is a signature dish of mother-in-law - mouth-watering otak otak. Housewife couldn't find any good otak-otak in hometown after trying it. hehe...

It needs good otak-otak paste, leave (forgot its name), egg, coconut milk and fresh fish/prawn.

e. Pumpkin Rice

This is a new recipe housewife has just learnt. Very simple to prepare so even when you're busy at work, you can still enjoy home-cooked dinner at home with these few steps...

a. Fried red onion and dried shrimp
b. Cook pumpkin (cut it into cube)
c.  Mixed all ingredients with rice and cook in the rice cooker
d. Serve with spring onion.

f. "Kerabu"

This is like an appertizer but it serves well with 'bee hoon' or porridge. It's very appetizing.

Ingredients: Lime, onion, dried shrimp and chillies.

Mixed all ingredients and does it!

Alright, that's all for today...

Welcome to the world, puppies!!!

Last Sunday, mum broke news to me, a news that I am waiting for, early in the morning- The little princess has delivered of 3 healthy puppies. What a good news to everyone of us!!

According to mum, little princess had to have a Caesarean and luckily she was being a good girl during the delivery process without making any noise.  Everyone at home were busying to take care of this little princess and 3 babies after her delivery... LOL... I wish I can be part of them...

The funny thing is this little princess still remained as the 'manja queen' even after becoming mummy as if these 3 babies are not belong to her. She wanted to sleep with my brother and left her babies to mum and sis. Haha...

Well, thanks to baby sister who immediately shared some photos to me... :)

When she was just a little cute lady.....

When she was pregnant...

The bubbly pregnant lady....

She was tired after delivery.....

Welcome to the world, puppies!

2nd Painting - Banana

Housewife has gone for second lesson.
The teacher said he wanted to give housewife the more refined yet complicated object for second lesson. Well, initially houswife thought the vase would be the challenge with its rich texture. It ended up with the banana that almost screwed up the painting. Luckily, the beauty of acryllic painting is the 'error' can be convered by painting the second layer on top of it and it dries easily, so housewife 'rescued' the banana.. haha...

Housewife is not very happy with this 2nd painting as it can be done better, supposingly.  Perhaps housewife get used to water colour skill and still adapting new painting skill....

Nevermind, will try again... :)

Puppies are on the way...

Housewife got to know from little brother and sister that the little princess puppy at home has pregnant!! She’s going to deliver in 2-3 weeks and doctor said there’ll have 4-6 babies. Oh my dear, how can 4-6 babies in her little tummy?? Housewife just can’t understand…

Little Princess is going to have 4-6 babies!!
Suddenly I miss the puppies at home so much. They have brought many laughter and fun to everyone at home. They are simply amazing and wish to see them again…

Missing them....

Housewife’s little brother built a little hut preparing for her delivery and ‘confinement’. Haha.. so cute. Housewife can’t wait to welcome the baby puppy now. The little princess is just like a baby girl to housewife but now she’s going to become mummy!! Gosh… very hard to accept this fact…
A picture from baby sis - Little 'Confinement centre' for Little Princess
The question is…. Everyone is still clueless about the daddy of the baby puppies. Who is he? Little princess has 2 “Prince puppy” with her so we wonder who will be the baby puppy’s daddy.. Perhaps both of them are daddies!

Little Princess just celebrated her birthday not long ago and now she become mummy!!

A lovey-dovey couple.....

"Am I a daddy?"

First Acryllic Painting Lesson

Housewife was an art stream student.
However, housewife said farewell to painting and drawing after leaving school and pursued new academic path.

It’s been more than 10 years housewife didn’t really draw/paint although it was once housewife’s hobby.  Thanks God that housewife has chance to pick up this hobby again after so many years. The inspiration came to housewife when housewife scratched head for hubby’s birthday gift this year. Well, since then, housewife started this passion again and has drafted few drawings.

With the encouragement of hubby, housewife signed up acrylic painting class and started first lesson last week. It was really fun!! Meanwhile, housewife has a little motivation when the first piece was chosen to be posted on art teacher’s art gallery on his website although it looks a bit ‘cacat’.
 Here’s the link:

Avocado - Does it look like avocado? :)

A set of art materials used.

Immediately after class, housewife excitedly shared this first piece with her baby sister. Luckily she able to distinguish the drawing and shared the excitement with housewife.
Of course, this piece is dedicated to the supportive hubby who has been collecting paintings for years.  :D Hubby has a painting that he bought @ USD$1500 years ago and now it appreciates to USD$6000 due to the retirement of artist. Therefore, housewife jokingly claimed that housewife’s ‘painting’ will also be appreciated after retirement. Hahah…. On top of that, hubby can save money from buying expensive painting anymore which housewife always nag him for this.
Hubby’s response:” Huh? Serious? Oh My!  Hmmm…” Housewife reckoned that he must be regretted to send housewife to art class.  :P LOL
A begin of new passion in a new journey…. J

Home Sweet Home

We’ve found our home sweet home! :D
Housewife and hubby can’t help but wanted to give glory to God for His blessing for a home sweet home.

The house came to us when we expected the least. We even rejected the broker’s arrangement for viewing the house as we were too obsessed with the unit we wanted so much but have already taken. On top of that, housewife thought of having little time-off after spending 3-4hours everyday on doing property research for the past 2 weeks. The more info housewife get, the greater confusion housewife has.

However, we changed our mind yesterday since it’s a public holiday. Housewife and hubby thought of going there just for ‘visitation’ and with no expectation, although housewife has done research on this condo before and knowing that it’s the condo received good comments and rating so far.

When we entered the condo, its serenity and quietness brought us peace. Of course, the 50-m pool also caught our eyes. Immediately, we went to visit the 2358sqt ft penthouse unit. This is a 3+1 bedroom unit with a rarely big roof top garden. The livable size is about 1250sqr ft where the roof top garden is about 900-1000sqt ft, which is equivalent to a small unit condo size.

Before viewing the unit, the roof top is actually something that turned housewife and hubby down. “What are we going to do with this 1000sqt ft roof top??”  We can neither do extension nor build additional room although broker claimed the garden can cater for 50-60pax or more if we throw a party. Anyway, we don’t think we throw big party all the time although we love to host. Therefore, we didn’t think it’s a wise choice for paying addition $$ for this plain roof top.

Anyway, this is the opinion we had BEFORE viewing the unit. :P

Surprisingly, the big roof top with nice view captured our heart dearly where we later have this master plan to turn it into vege corner, dining area (for hosting), reading corner, laundry area and with some landscaping. Anyway, this is just some crazy thoughts  we had after having sleepless night as the 2 crazy fellow were too excited for having a first home in life. hheheh.... We  haven’t known if this is doable but nevermind, just a little sweet crazy thought we both share...

Wake up! Wake Up! Ops...

Alright, in a nutshell, we fell in love with this unit with a peaceful heart. Without any further hesitation, we made an offer.

Obviously we’re blessed to have this unit because it seems better than the previous unit we wanted in many ways…
  •              It’s 17% cheaper where the size is about the same. On top of that, we save another $5k where broker fought a better deal for us.
  •            It provides FREE shuttle bus to MRT station and a big supermarket.
  •            It access to amenities where there’s a wet market, hypermarket, food stores and etc within 5 minutes walking distance.
  •           There’s a park, something like botanical garden, within the vicinity. It’s just opposite the condo.
  •           According to house owner and broker, the nearest school is one of the top 15 famous schools in Lion City so there’s a chance for children to get in to a good school in future.
  •            It considered as low density condo where about 300units only.  The previous unit we wanted was about 700-800units.
God know our heart well. Believe it or not? These are the criteria we have prayed and He answered us with His grace. During our house hunting journey, we saw how He close the doors although we wanted few units so much and how He open a door for us although we rejected it once.
Finally, we have found our little nest. The excitement is simply unexplainable. Housewife really appreaciate God who never forsaken us and hubby who work so hard for it. Without hubby, housewife couldn't afford to have such a beautiful house.... :)
Alright, here are some roof-top garden pictures… :D

Master Plan 1:  A Vege Corner

Master Plan 2: Lanscaping area

Master Plan 3: Laundry Area

Master Plan 4: Hosting Area
